The Streaming Platform to Bring a Popular Game TV Show from the Creators of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The latest action-packed instalment that audiences explored was Far Cry 6, which starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the antagonist, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. As a series, it is known for embracing action and mayhem with similar glee, all while telling captivating, socially charged tales. No wonder then that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry anthology series brought on board two producers whose projects have embodied all of those things.

About the Series

Based on Ubisoft's hit video game series, the self-contained anthology series will stream on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The anthology will also parallel the video games' style by featuring a different location and ensemble in each season.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as showrunners on the series under their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had excellent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is original, compelling, and extremely entertaining. We also want to appreciate our partners at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we are unsure of what part that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently approved for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new long-term contract with the creator.

“Having the opportunity with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally accommodating, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game universes ever created. And throughout this process, my FX family constantly supports me with their steady belief and assistance.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology program. Every instalment is a variation of a theme, the same way every run of Fargo is a adaptation on a story,” explained Hawley. “To develop a epic action show that can evolve from one instalment to the next, while always exploring the core of society through this intricate and chaotic lens, is a long-held aspiration. I’m eager to partner with Rob and introduce our shared bold, ambitious style to the audience.”

A release window for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
