Dominant Aryna Sabalenka Claims Consecutive WTA Top Player Accolades.
The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive year.
The 27-year-old captured four tournament victories – the most on tour – including retaining the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles triumph.
A Season of Dominance
Throughout the year, Sabalenka reached a tour-best nine finals, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.
The star player also claimed victory at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She remained the whole season as the world number one, finishing 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.
This past summer, she became the first player to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.
Historic Numbers
Sabalenka finished the season with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and collected a record eleven million pounds in tournament winnings.
She received nearly eighty percent of the votes cast by international tennis media.
On 28 December, she is poised to compete against 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match in a bid to "elevate women's tennis to a new level".
